Dr. Xiaoli Jing is a lecturer and master’s supervisor at the Institute of International and Comparative Education, Beijing Normal University. Her research focuses on internationalization of education, cross-border education, and education in Canada. Specifically, her research explores different countries’ approaches of achieving internationalization at home and China’s approach to build a world center of higher education in a time of unprecedented global changes. Theoretically, she is keen on world system theory and post-colonial theory. Methodologically, she usually adopts qualitative research methods to investigate her research questions. She is presiding over one national-level project in addition to several projects at the university- and department-level. She has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Higher Education, Studies in Higher Education, International, Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education, and Comparative Education in China and served as reviewers for several SSCI and CSSCI journals.
