AHERC is committed to:

n Serving as a platform to promote mutual understanding of APEC economies on each other’s higher education systems and policies.

n Carrying out joint studies to provide opportunities for consultation and advices for promoting APEC higher education cooperation, and for member economies’ higher education reform and development.

n Collecting and analyzing information pertaining to higher education reform and development in the Asia-Pacific region, and serving as an information exchange network and a portal for higher education.

AHERC aims to serve as a platform to:

n Develop joint research collaborations and publications;

n Share the latest HE development and reform policy frameworks within APEC members;

n Prepare annual reports on HE development and serve as an important input for policy making and investment decisions;

n Identify the best solutions for the verification of qualification;

n Research the transferability and equivalency of credits as well as quality assurance in HE；

n Organize HE international conferences and provide consultation to governments, HE institutions and organizations of APEC economies.
